Formed in 2004, eviivo is a company that shares a vision for transforming independent tourism through our unique combination of award-winning products and services. We are championing the cause of the independent accommodation sector in the UK and abroad, making lives easier and increasing profits by bringing guests and small businesses together online.
At the last count we had over 120 staff based in King's Cross, London, led by a passionate and experienced management team. Staff members hail from all corners of the globe, with 20 nationalities currently represented, all sharing a strong work ethic and a commitment to our customers.
In 2005 we began introducing small and medium sized accommodation businesses to a revolutionary way of selling their rooms online with eviivo frontdesk®, and we have grown steadily from there. The timeline below charts our key milestones.
Starting with a single business in 2005, we now proudly promote nearly 5,000 independent UK businesses, offering over 50,000 rooms to book every night of the year.
We have formed strong partnerships with key national and regional tourism organisations – such as VisitBritain, VisitLondon, The AA, One North East Tourism and South West Tourism – who like us are committed to supporting and growing local tourism.
Our technology has been chosen to underpin the National Tourism Open Platform – the infrastructure that powers national and regional tourism websites, allowing local business to compete with the leading hotel chains and online travel agencies.
Our technology was first licensed in Australia in 2005, and now supports over 1,000 businesses. In 2008 we extended the licence agreement to enable Air New Zealand and V3 Leisure in Australia to launch our products into the New Zealand market, through Tourism Exchange NZ.
In that same year, together with Yatra Online Private Ltd. we agreed to establish a licensee in India: Intech Hotel Solutions, a subsidiary of Yatra Online. Signing up its 1000th frontdesk user in 2009 and developing unique tools for local travel agents, Intech is at the forefront of the development of independent tourism in this rapidly emerging market.
We are proud to champion independent tourism businesses around the world and promote them to an international audience. To this end, we are actively exploring options to expand our products and services further afield.
