When taking-up frontdesk, we wanted to capture more online bookings, particularly as we were about to pass our entire accommodation stock online rather than just manage an allocation. Our partnership with eviivo would open up other distribution channels such as the AA, Expedia and lastminute.com. We required an efficient way of ensuring that we wouldn’t miss out on bookings when we're away. We were also looking for ways in which we could have much more control and flexibility over rates and packages.
I was always reasonably confident that in choosing eviivo frontdesk® our immediate requirements would be met and I was very pleasantly surprised at how quickly we have become comfortable with the new system.
We were immediately happier with the manner in which our online reservations were being handled. The system requires much less management than before and we are more confident now that we are unlikely to overbook. It wasn't too long before we started to notice bookings from distribution channels that we had not previously had available to us.
Service levels from the outset have been extremely high. Set-up was painless and support has been plentiful and easy to get. Recording new bookings is extremely easy. To sell more rooms and get access to online distribution channels, to be able to show online customers real-time room availability, join a strong network and get advice and suggestions on online marketing - all of the above were reasons why I became a frontdesk user. As soon as the front of house system had been installed, we began using it straight away and the bookings started coming in. We also noticed an increased number of enquiries and more traffic to our website.

I have been using frontdesk since the beginning of April 2009 and have been very pleased with the results. My expectations when we started out were: generate more business, save time and access to some channels that do not ordinarily work with smaller businesses. Our bookings are now on the increase even with the credit crunch.
Using the system on a daily basis, I find that check-in and check-out are so much simpler than before. I can print out my customers' registration documents with all their details and all they have to do is sign, everything is in black and white and so straightforward. Deposits are placed directly in my bank account, so no time is spent on manually taking deposits. I get an SMS message to my mobile phone whenever anyone makes a reservation so I know exactly who is arriving and when. The eviivo staff are very helpful when I ring the office with any queries, as I'm still learning all the time!

When we took over the Senlac Guesthouse in 2007, we knew the business very well as Vicky had already been working there for many years. frontdesk is easy to manage, gets wide exposure across many search criteria, the commission rates are low, the support desk is very supportive - and importantly for the customer - they believe they are booking directly with you which is considered high value by many customers.

Since using eviivo, we've been selling more rooms and had greater web presence. With eviivo, there are very few cancellations and you achieve longer stays. Other booking systems we have tried tend to achieve one night stays - with eviivo, the stays are longer.

The database information collated is useful and the computerised booking system is very efficient. The ability to set a deposit amount and to give the customer the chance to pay straight away is useful for both cash flow and making sure the booking is firm. Also very useful is the ability to maintain bookings whilst away from the premises with an iphone.
Since going with eviivo our advertising cost savings have been substantial with a big increase in bookings that are growing year on year. The time and expense saved on admin costs ( postal receipts, etc) has been a real benefit.

We did quite a bit of research before settling on eviivo. We wanted a large distribution network & we also wanted easy-to-manage software that would give us good control and flexibility, at a reasonable cost.
The most important issue was 'would our B&B get seen by the right people in the right way and attract guests?' We also wanted to be certain that booking was easy for the guest and that information updated immediately. We have a good website, and a good product, but clearly if no one sees it or if it is difficult or seemed unsafe to use then no bookings! We also wanted a tool that integrated well with our own website.
The training was very straight forward and addressed most of our concerns right away. We asked a lot of questions and got good clear answers. We felt this initial training was excellent and comprehensive and allowed us to use the software immediately without feeling intimidated. We have only needed customer service a few times. Each time they were friendly and professional.
The marketing tools are great for gathering data and communicating with our guests, which has already earned us repeat bookings. The rate tools are easy to use and allow us to change and update as needed. We use the reporting features, financial summaries and the tools that allow us to update images, add booking extras and special offers too. We are fairly savvy at marketing, and the eviivo system allows us total control over bookings, scheduling, offers and guest information.

Credit card data compliance is a great benefit of the system, and for smaller establishments you can take card payments from customers without the need for expensive credit card terminal rental charges.
The initial customer service when setting up our business with eviivo was great - very understanding staff who actually wanted things to be exactly right for us. Since set up, we hardly have to call customer service as there is a great help section within the system and also videos and training Webinars (these are brilliant for new users of the system and run by friendly trainers).
