This out-of-the-box tourism search solution is fully brand-able and configurable, and new partners are set up quickly and easily. The web application fits seamlessly into a partner’s existing website, offering their website visitors immediate access to over 60,000 products from the National Tourism Product Database. Available in 23 languages and over 60 currencies, the system also provides detailed user behaviour tracking and analysis.
The National Tourism Product Database (formerly known as EnglandNet) stores over 60,000 records, aggregated from approximately 60 national data points. These records include accommodation (serviced and non-serviced), tours, attractions, activities and events from across the UK. We optimise this data so that it is stored in a format that allows the search system to access it quickly and efficiently, ensuring web users can easily find what they’re searching for.
We have recently built an ultra-lightweight integration method using the JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) data interchange format. This technology allows for seamless browser-to-server integration where high levels of user interactivity and lightning-fast response times are required. This API is architected upon our White Label Search Application and has been designed with advanced levels of configurability, supported by useful integration harnesses and clear documentation.
The comprehensive XML interface allows for a low cost of integration for new suppliers. On behalf of VisitBritain and VisitLondon, we have already integrated most of the UK’s major suppliers of room pricing and availability. An ongoing programme of integration ensures that the supply base is constantly increasing and is open to all room sellers in the UK.
Our availability and pricing engine provides real-time retrieval and consolidation of room rates from all major UK accommodation suppliers, representing over 16,000 hotels, B&Bs, guest houses and self-catering properties. Suppliers already integrated include Superbreak, Booking.com, Laterooms, Hilton, Premier Inn, Radisson Edwardian, Hostel World, all of the UK’s operating Destination Management Systems and a range of Property Management Systems including eviivo frontdesk® and New Vision’s Guestlink. We are particularly proud to include a large number of small and medium sized properties in the system, which would otherwise be under-represented online.
